Welcome to what I have called my view on life. I’m a 50+ year old guy living in Hampshire, UK, on the edge of the New Forest National Park. Despite best efforts, I’m still working, presently for Ordnance Survey, the UK’s national mapping agency, as a systems manager.

This is a random selection of dis-jointed thoughts and images both from the UK and from North America. My main photographic interest is in landscape photography (see my Images by Alan website) and this really came about through my interest in hill walking. I would carry a camera with me to record the views that I enjoyed and have used these to illustrate the walks on my bikes and boots web site. As well was hill walking, I enjoy mountain biking and again use the camera to record the vistas and other scenes of interest.
