Somewhere in the “mountains” of southern Hampshire on our bike ride last Sunday with members of the Southampton branch of Cycling UK (formerly known as Cycle Touring Club). Many cyclists enjoy the challenge of a good hill climb. I have to say that I find this to be the least enjoyable part although I do enjoy a good whizz down the other side. My favourite part of the day is stopping in a cafe and eating cake with like-minded people and not feeling the slightest bit guility about it.
Some of these nutters have cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats. It’s not a journey I’d fancy doing by car, never mind on a bike.
