A late summer’s evening

I mentioned the Empress hotel in yesterday’s image; this is it. I’ve shown a view of this earlier in this series (27th June) looking from the opposite direction but I prefer the lighting in this view, although not keen on that shadow on the walkway. Earlier in the day, this area is full of oportunist market stalls selling tourist tat.

I’m fulfilled an long-held ambition tonight; I’m going to one of the BBC Proms concerts in the Royal Albert Hall. I did try hard to get tickets for the magnificent Beethoven’s 9th to be held in late Auguest but tickets for that went very quickly after booking opened. Instead I’m going to all Beethoven evening featuring his 1st, his Violin Concerto (played by Hilary Hahn) and then my second favourite, the 5th. The orchestra is Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen with its Artistic Director, Paavo Järvi. It should be a cracking evening.

Unless I get a chance to comment on your images before I go, please excuse me if I run out of time and don’t get a chance to do it.
